Autoethnography of a feminist clinic with two voices

This manuscript presents, in a two-voice autoethnographic way, the project of a feminist clinic to address male violence in female subjectivities, based on uncovering the impacts of the patriarchal-colonial-capitalist system on the histories of subjective suffering that affect women's lives. It breaks down the fabric of the feminist clinic into three spheres: theoretical, clinical and socio-political. The theoretical sphere, which encompasses a discussion between psychoanalytic feminism and feminist psychoanalysis; the clinical sphere, which makes clear, on the one hand, the impossibility of neutrality in psychoanalytic treatment, and on the other, the need and clinical benefit of involving the feminist ideological position in listening to women, and finally, the socio-political sphere, where empirical experiences are reported, as well as hard data that have served as coordinates to identify that the affective-subjective life of women is the horizon to which feminist clinical attention must be directed. The text concludes that in order to confront the wave of fascist positions that attempt to dismantle feminist conquests today, and to minimise the suffering of women in everyday life, reducing it to isolated cases, a redoubling of efforts is required that is capable of confronting both the system itself, and the therapeutic offers that boast of offering relief from mental suffering through the provision of drugs and prescriptions that encourage adaptation rather than transformation.
