Images and graphics
The journal accepts the inclusion of visual materials and tables in manuscripts, differentiating their function and editorial treatment according to whether they are Images (illustrative), Figures (analytical), or Tables (analytical). This distinction allows for clarity for authors, reviewers, and editors.
1. Images
Images are visual resources that accompany or enrich the manuscript, without forming part of the academic analysis.
They do not follow APA 7.
Requirements:
- Location: immediately after the paragraph where it is first cited.
- Numbering: Arabic numerals (Image 1, Image 2, etc.).
- Title: brief and descriptive (maximum 8 words).
- Source: below the image (Personal file, Public domain, Courtesy of X, etc.).
- Additional file: send each image separately in TIFF or JPG format, without compression.
- Minimum resolution: 300 dpi.
Note: If the image has an analytical function, it should be treated as a Figure according to APA 7.
Supplementary images
These are sent as separate files to illustrate the text, without being inserted into the analysis.
Requirements:
* Format: Send each image as a separate TIFF or JPG file, 300 dpi.
* Attach a Word file with a brief description of each image and its thematic relevance.
* Numbering: Image 1, Image 2..
Artistic proposals to illustrate the issue
For each call for submissions, up to 10 artistic images related to the theme of the issue may be submitted.
Requirements:
- Word file with a general description of the proposal, conceptual relationship to the theme of the issue, and technical details for each image (numbering, title, source, and brief description).
- Each image must be submitted separately in PNG, JPG, or TIFF format, 300 dpi.
- They must be original or have authorization for use.
- The Editorial Committee will select the images that will accompany the edition.
2. Figures (APA 7, analytical function)
Figures include photographs, graphs, maps, diagrams, or other visual representations used as evidence or part of academic analysis.
Requirements:
- Location: immediately after the paragraph where they are first mentioned.
- Use: only when necessary for the clarity of the manuscript.
- Numbering: Roman numerals (Figure I, Figure II, etc.).
- Title: brief and descriptive, placed above the figure.
- Note: only if the figure is adapted, reproduced, or requires additional explanation, following APA 7.
- Format: TIFF or JPG, 300 dpi.

- Additional explanation: Note. Figures were rounded to the nearest whole number.
3. Tabellen (APA 7, analytische Funktion)
Requirements:
- Location: Place them immediately after the paragraph where they are first mentioned.
- Use: Include only those necessary for the clarity of the manuscript.
- Numbering: Roman numerals (Table I, Table II, etc.).
- Title: Brief and descriptive title, placed above.
- Note: Below only if the table adapts, reproduces, or requires additional explanation, following APA 7. The initial word is always “Note,” followed by the corresponding explanation or source. When the table or figure is original, no note is placed.
- Format: Present them clearly, with minimal borders, following APA 7 guidelines.
Technical criteria and rights of use
Accepted formats:
- In the manuscript: TIFF or JPG (images and figures), PNG optional for artistic proposals
- Tables: inserted in Word, following a clear and legible format
- Minimum resolution: 300 dpi
- Rights: all visual materials and tables must be the author's own work, in the public domain, or have permission for use
- The author must sign the corresponding section in the letter of authorization to publish
- If the manuscript does not include visual materials or tables, this section does not require a signature
