When José Luis Negrete proposed to me the presentation of a book by Silvia Quezada in Colima, I immediately thought it was a text of literary criticism, since I associated her name with research on women poets or gender studies. But this time the author was delivering a novel. It was a pleasant surprise to find Silvia as a creator, in this fusion of roles that her narrative reveals, clearly referencing the role of reader and critic in the figure of Marcela, who arrived in a neighborhood fleeing from her husband to defend her freedom to study literature.
