Abstract

The book Investigación Feminista: Epistemología y Representaciones Sociales fills an intellectual need for teachers, students and researchers from three angles: on the one hand, for those of us dedicated to feminist research, it offers a text that condenses the most current debates on feminist epistemologies and methodologies, as well as the various dimensions involved in this type of research. Secondly, it is also an important work for those who do not share the political and intellectual horizon of feminism, because it responds to many of the questions that for years have been haunting the academic debate on the subject. It is common for our colleagues to ask themselves, “Is there such a thing as feminist research?”, to question the epistemological bases underlying this type of research, and to criticize the political dimension so present in this form of knowledge construction. For all of them, this book will be very useful. Finally, the text has the virtue of drawing on that critical stance within feminism, which has always been one of its best veins.
