Marriage, an obstacle for women's profesional careers

This is an indepth analysis of one of the reasons why schoolmistresses hit a glass ceiling for a headship. They are underrepresented in such positions compared to their contribution as tea chers in compulsory education. This is due to the incompatibility of marriage with the plan ning of their professional career, since they in vest the necessary time to do so in their part ners’ careers.
