Abstract

Miriam López has several good points in this book. First, she offers a general historical review of women's participation in the search for the vindication of their rights, both in Europe and in America, focusing mainly on Mexico. Secondly, it presents the historical trajectory of women's participation in the press in both the Old and the New World, thus outlining feminist journalism, which, on principle, opposes women's publications by trying to raise women's awareness of their oppression and inequality in relation to men. Third, it characterizes and differentiates journalism. Feminist gender journalism, which is carried out through interviews with prominent feminists and collaborators of Fem magazine. And fourth, it carries out a study that we can call historiographic about this magazine, which had a great impact on the dissemination of feminist thought.
