It is the year 1967 in a town called Juchitan de Zaragoza in the aromatic Oaxaca in the south of Mexico. In the center of this town is my grandmother's house, it is a small and old house made according to tradition, with adobe and tile roof, which makes it different from all the big houses that surround it, because they belonged to rich families. The house had such a large patio and I saw it so big that going from one place to another I felt like I was traveling to another town. The patio had a dirt floor where there were fruit trees, like a chicozapote and also a guiechachi with its pink flowers. The chickens roamed free, the cats lay down resting and grooming their bodies by licking them with their long tongues.
