Parenting times. Social representations regarding the distribution of care time in Valencian families.
Keywords:
gender, breeding, time, Valencia, familyAbstract
In many European countries, neither states nor markets seem to assume their responsibility for the sustainability of life and parenting is still today a private responsibility. When we assume a feminist epistemology, this reality necessarily leads us to ask ourselves what role gender plays as an organizing element of care responsibilities in today's families. With this objective in mind, a qualitative research has been carried out on the uses and responsibilities, regarding parenting time, that men and women co-formers of two-parent Valencian (Spanish) families are assuming. This exploration has allowed us to map generically unbalanced positions, but also new proposals of parenting relationships.
