The emergence of GénEros magazine

Abstract

It has been twenty years since the Asociación Colimense de Universitarias, A. C. (ACU), founded in March 1993, held its first events. One of them, very enjoyable and well attended, was a round table to commemorate in an original way the 10th of May, “Mother's Day”. The event was so well attended that we discussed the possibility of publishing a small compilation of the presentations, which were original and aroused debate and reflection. In my capacity as president of the ACU, and with the support of the board of directors, we took the request for support for this project to the then rector of the University of Colima, Mr. Fernando Moreno Peña, who, after listening to us, encouraged -even better- the realization of a more ambitious idea we had: the publication of a magazine of the Association.
