Peer review

The efforts of GénEroos serve and are directed to support the scientific dissemination efforts of the academic community whose lines of research and interest include gender studies. Its main audience is made up of researchers, professors and students who analyze, study and reflect on these issues.

Each text (article, essay or review) received by GénEroos is submitted to double-blind refereeing by specialists in the issues addressed in order to evaluate its scientific quality and the relevance of its publication.

The modality known as “double-blind” is based on the rigorous anonymity of both the evaluators and the authors of the submitted papers, in such a way that both the seriousness and the full confidentiality of the process are guaranteed.

Evaluation procedure and possible results

DOUBLE BLIND ARBITRATION PROCESS

For a text to be published in GénEroos, it must be submitted to the evaluation procedure by the corresponding academic peers, according to the following process:

The possible results of the arbitration are:

  1. Approved
The author is notified, through OJS and e-mail, that his/her text has started the editorial process.
  2. Conditional
  • Approval is recommended, but with suggestions for minor modifications or extensive revisions.
  • The texts will be submitted to a second evaluation by the evaluators to verify that the modifications have been made.
  • The Editorial Team will verify the acceptance of the manuscript after the implementation of the suggestions, within a specific deadline, which will be communicated to the authorship.
  • At this stage, the authorship should indicate, in a letter, the changes made and justify any rejected remarks, if considered pertinent. In addition, they should mark the changes in the manuscript for prompt identification.
  1. Rejected
  • The text will be rejected if both academic evaluators so rule, or if the authors do not comply with the suggestions within the deadline specified by the Editorial Team.
  • This result will be final and the authorship will be officially notified.
