Us. Brief Chronicle of three generations of Chinese women.

When my grandmother was alive, there were four of us in my family: my grandmother, my mom, my dad and me. We were born in the twenties, fifties and eighties of the twentieth century. The micro-history of women in my family could be a reflection of the changes of many women in the past century. What does it mean to be born a woman in China? Pain or happiness? Opportunity or challenge? Enjoyment or suffering? I don't know how to answer; however, I can tell what has happened to us, and what we have done to be us.
