Submission process
Before starting the process of submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that their work complies with the journal’s Authorship Guidelines and the current Code of Ethics of the journal. For more information, the code can be consulted here: [Code of Ethics | GénEroos]
The procedure is detailed below:
1. Registration and start of submission
- The corresponding author must create an account in the OJS system or log in if they already have one.
- Select the option “New Submission” and carefully read the description of the corresponding section (research article, essay, review, etc.).
- Accept the declaration of originality and editorial policies (copyright, ethics and malpractice, privacy).
2. Preparation of the file for review
The manuscript must be uploaded in .doc or .docx format without information that allows identification of the authors, to ensure the double-blind peer review process.
To do this, the author must:
- Remove names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or references that allow identification.
- Check that the file properties do not contain personal data.
- Upload figures, tables, or supplementary materials in separate files (if applicable), clearly labeled.
3. Submission metadata
The author must include:
- Title of the manuscript (in Spanish and English).
- Abstract and keywords (in Spanish and English).
- Complete list of authors, with standardized institutional affiliation, ORCID, and email address.
- Information on funding, if any.
- Complete bibliographic references.
4. Additional documents
During submission, the following mandatory documents must be uploaded along with the manuscript:
- Originality Letter (download here) – mandatory
- Authorization for Article Publication (download here) – mandatory
Additionally, when applicable, other supplementary documents must be included:
- Permissions for use of images or materials protected by copyright – only if applicable
- Files of images, tables, or figures accompanying the manuscript – only if applicable
5. Submission confirmation
Once the previous steps are completed:
- Select “Save and continue” until reaching the submission summary.
- Check that the files and metadata are correct.
- Confirm the submission. The system will send a notification email with the manuscript tracking number.
6. Monitoring the editorial process
Authors may check the progress of the manuscript at any time from their OJS profile, including:
- Preliminary review by the editorial team.
- Assignment of reviewers and peer evaluation process.
- Editorial decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection).
- Upload of revised versions.
- Copyediting and proofs, in case of acceptance.
7. Authors’ responsibilities during the process
- Respond promptly to editorial requests.
- Make corrections within the indicated deadline.
- Maintain clear and updated communication with the editorial team.
- Ensure the fidelity of the content in all submitted versions.
Note: To support authors at each stage of the editorial process, the journal provides a series of tutorial videos explaining the different phases of submission, review, and editing of manuscripts. Resources can be consulted at:
