It is a work framed within the studies on the publishing world that incorporates the gender perspective. Ruth Panofsky carries out an exhaustive research that seeks to make visible and analyze the role and contribution of women in the Canadian English-language publishing world of the 20th century. The question that guides this work focuses on the ways in which women as cultural workers create meaning in the publishing sector.
