Because I felt brave, I started stealing:
Masculinities and violence among adolescents in conflict with the law in Mexico City of Mexico by Laura Talina Hernández Baca
Abstract
In the current climate of femicides, gender violence and massive women's protests, studies on masculinities provide many clues for reflection. This work contributes to the problematization of the gender inequalities faced by some men, given the place they occupy in an economically and socially hierarchical society. The experiences of marginalized men in Mexico City and their masculinities are the guiding thread of this research. The book is in digital -a great step to quickly access its reading-, it was published by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Unidad Cuajimalpa, in 2018. It includes presentation and thanks, introduction, three chapters, conclusions, additional note and final bibliography. The work presented here is the product of a previous graduate thesis, its transformation to a book was due to the fact that the research received in 2014 the thesis award on the Discriminatory Phenomenon in Mexico City.
