Abstract

The paper’s primary goal is to explore the implications that the 1968 Radical Women Group-organized Funeral of Traditional Womanhood brought to Radical Feminism in America. This idea is sustained in the hypothesis that the Funeral was a sort of inauguration of an agenda intended to identify and solve problems of, particularly female interests. Among which was traditional womanhood. The paper is divided into three sections. In the first one, some
contextual elements will be pointed out to frame the historical event referred to as the Funeral. In the second part, the funeral procession will be analyzed. Finally, the third section explains the importance of the period’s first-hand documents for the study of Radical Feminism in America.
