The objective of this work is to analyze some feminine euphemisms that in their formation, in addition to debilitating seg ments, also present palatization. For purposes of this study, a sample of Chilean and Mexican Spanish speakers was obtained to study different phonological processes utilized in the for mation of euphemisms. A list of the variants spoken in both countries is presented, as well as, a detailed analysis of those feminine names that as they are reduced to form the affective appellative modify some of its segments.
