The study of classroom interactions from a gender perspective

Gender allows us to establish important distinctions between men and women in terms of natural and cultural facts. A gender perspective affirms that relationships between men and women can be explained when different ideas and beliefs that societies have constructed in relation to sexual difference are fully understood. We acknowledge that sociocultural influences affect in dividual behavior, since they determine the configuration of a specific way to see and relate to the world. With this in mind, in this paper we understand teachers’ behavior in the classroom as being affected by these influence.
