In 2024, the Mexico-Brazil Network, as it has long been known, celebrates the tenth anniversary of its creation. Emerging from the interdisciplinary partnership between researchers from the University of Colima (UdeC) and the Municipal University of São Caetano do Sul (USCS), the network has been very productive academically and has aroused much affection among people from both countries.

In 2014, the agreement between both institutions was signed in Brazil to regulate working collaborations between researchers, represented by Dr. Karla Y. Covarrubias (UdeC) and Dr. Priscila F. Perazzo (USCS). New collaborators soon arrived from other organizations, such as the Universidade Paulista (UNIP), Fundação Pró-Memória de São Caetano do Sul (FPM-SCS) and the Mexican Oral History Association (AMHO).

In 2022, the network was formalized as the Latin American Network of Researchers in Memory, Culture and Communication, and continues to bring together those interested in these three thematic areas to develop cooperative research, extension and teaching activities. With the expansion of partnerships, new inter-institutional agreements have been signed.
