AI usage policies

Our journal's policy on the use of generative artificial intelligence in the production of academic and scientific literature rigorously adheres to the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These guidelines contemplate both the responsible use of GAI tools in the preparation of manuscripts and the criteria of academic integrity and authorship.

In this sense, the use of artificial intelligence is allowed only as a technical support tool, in the following functions:

Spelling and grammatical correction.
Improve the structure of the text.
Verification, correction and formatting of citations and bibliographical references.

The generation of substantive content (argumentation, analysis, discussion, results or other main sections of the manuscript) by GAI tools is not allowed. Undeclared or improper use of these technologies may compromise the originality of the text and, consequently, lead to rejection of the manuscript or other editorial actions.

The journal uses AI-generated content detection systems and may request clarification from authors if it identifies signs of unauthorized use. We reiterate that the use of GAI does not relieve authors of their full responsibility for the content submitted.

Mandatory statement on the use of generative artificial intelligence

In the manuscript submission process, authors must expressly state whether they have used any artificial intelligence tool, clearly indicating the type of assistance provided (e.g., grammatical correction, style adjustments, reference checking, etc.). This information will be reviewed by the editorial team and will be considered part of the ethical compliance of the publication process.

To do so, the corresponding declaration form, available for download here, must be completed and attached along with the manuscript at the time of submission.
