The journal Estudios sobre las Culturas Contemporáneas remains faithful in this issue to its prestigious tradition of offering relevant and quality content in the field of sociocultural knowledge. In reviewing the body of texts that make up this issue -four articles, two essays and three reviews- it is possible to identify a common thread, with different thematic nuances, that contributes to documenting the agency of social actors, who despite inequalities and injustices reveal their capacity to confront greater powers. The value of these works consists in making visible, on a scientific basis, the situations of those who embody David in contemporary scenarios.
