PORTES is a biannual journal that employs a peer-review system and relies on external evaluators to the publishing institution for the selection of articles, which are sent anonymously to two reviewers who will provide an evaluation under the terms of publishable without substantial changes, publishable with revision by the author, and not publishable.

The journal’s main policy is to distinguish between research articles, essays, and book reviews.

The guidelines and requirements for publishing in PORTES are listed in the instructions for authors section, with a national and international editorial committee, in addition to the aforementioned body of reviewers. Therefore, all work is subject to a double-blind review, with the aim of disseminating only quality work in the area.
