Abstract

A little less than four decades later, the journal Estudios sobre las Culturas Contemporáneas is renewed once again. After more than ninety printed issues, it becomes a definitively digital magazine. This event marks a milestone; It represents the beginning of a new stage, in January 2024, which we receive with gratitude and hope. In this sense, volume one, number one, is significant for those who have made it possible for a long-term periodical publication of relevance to the academic and scientific field, inside and outside the University of Colima (Mexico), to continue evolving.

Mexican. Graduate in Communication from the University of Colima (Mexico); Master in Public Services and Social Policies from the University of Salamanca (Spain). Doctor in Social Sciences from the University of Colima. Current institutional affiliation: University Center for Social Research, and professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Colima. Candidate for National Researcher by the National System of Researchers since October 2022. Collaborator of Academic Body 122: Contemporary Culture and Communication Studies.
