China: del tercer mundo al Sur Global

Resumen

A lo largo de los años, los líderes chinos han defendido su posición como miembros del llamado Tercer Mundo y después del Sur Global. Su argumento se centra en el trasfondo histórico como país que sufrió los estragos del imperialismo en los siglos XIX y XX y que, gracias a sus políticas dirigidas por el Partido Comunista Chino pudo, primero, establecer la República Popular China y después, implementar las políticas económicas adecuadas para llevar al país hacia el desarrollo de su economía. Su caracterización como miembro del grupo de países en vías de desarrollo le ha permitido obtener beneficios de los organismos internacionales otorgantes de ayuda, por ello, aun ahora, con una economía que la coloca como segunda a nivel mundial, sigue sustentando la idea de pertenencia al grupo.

El carácter del grupo tercermundista y después del Sur Global, le ha permitido a China presentarse como el país que ofrece opciones para poder establecer un sistema internacional más justo, que tome en cuenta las aspiraciones de los países en desarrollo y de economías emergentes.
