Abstract

At the beginning of the third millennium, the horizon of human reproduction is full of doubts, fears and expectations. While countless women indulge in the technological management of procreation, with suffering and at exorbitant prices, others do everything possible to get rid of the lives they carry inside. In all parts of the world antagonistic desires arise: to achieve the birth of a certain creature or to prevent the birth of another.

Marta Lamas Encabo, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Mexicana. Maestra en antropología por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Ex directora del Grupo de Información en Reproducción Elegida (GIRE) y directora de la revista Debate feminista. Profesora investigadora del Programa Universitario de Estudios de Género de la UNAM y del ITAM. Sus líneas de investigación son género, cuerpo, subjetividad, feminismo y bioética.
