Objetivo, enfoque y alcances

Estudios sobre las Culturas Contemporáneas (ESCC) is a biannual, open access journal of research and analysis of culture. Its main objective is to publish original works of research or theoretical and methodological reflection in relation to contemporary culture.

ESCC's efforts are aimed at supporting the work of the academic community, whose lines of research and interest cover the wide range of studies on culture as a major category of analysis, whether from the sociology of culture, social and cultural anthropology, cultural studies, interculturality, or the relationship between communication and culture, among other approaches.

Its main readership is academics, from the field of Social Sciences and Humanities in Mexico and other countries; researchers, teachers and students from different academic levels, interested in expanding their knowledge in the field of the study of culture.

ESCC recognizes and adheres to the principles of transparency and good practices for academic publications promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), to ensure the quality of the editorial process and the authenticity of publications. The journal is a member of the following indexes and databases: Redalyc, Dialnet and Latindex.
