Abstract

I Am Not a Robot is a work whose title could easily evoke a science fiction novel, but it has nothing to do with fiction; it is a call to care for the culture of letters, a work that invites reflection on the use of technology and its impact on culture. It is a social X-ray that exemplifies in many ways how human beings are being surpassed by technology. As Juan Villoro (2024) says, “it is imperative to reflect at a time when the species is losing faculties that are being taken over by machines” (p. 9). The book is easy to read, taking the reader almost by the hand through many scenarios using narrative language that allows the reader to easily understand the different contexts presented by the author. It addresses politics, economics, history, and even astronomy from an anecdotal perspective.
