través de estas memorias queremos reconocer el trabajo que realizan los organi-
zadores del IV Simposio Internacional de Parasitología Agrícola, como son el Dr.
Carlos Ail Catzim, de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC);
Dr. Esaú Ruiz Sánchez, del Tecnológico Nacional de México, Campus Conkal, Yuca-
tán; y Dr. Wilberth Chan Cupul, por parte de la Universidad de Colima, a través de
la Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas y Agropecuarias (FCBA). Evento que se realizó en
formato virtual del 6 al 8 de mayo de 2024. Además de las instituciones organizadoras,
participaron en las ponencias magistrales colegas de cinco instituciones (tres extranjeras y
dos nacionales): el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) de España,
el Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales, Agrícolas y Pecuarias (INIFAP) de
México, el Consejo Nacional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (CENSA) de Cuba, la Universi-
dad de Colima en México a través de la Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas y Agropecuarias
(FCBA) y el Museo de Historia Natural de Florida, EE UU.
Los objetivos del simposio se mantienen y refuerzan a través del tiempo, pues destaca
que se cumpla con: a) establecer redes de colaboración entre los cuerpos académicos de
diferentes instituciones para generar la transferencia de conocimiento y propuestas para la
solución de los diferentes problemas fitosanitarios que enfrentan los cultivos agrícolas; b)
identificar líneas y grupos de investigación entre investigadores nacionales e internacionales
que buscan una actitud crítica frente a los problemas fitosanitarios actuales de la agricultura;
y c) contribuir al fortalecimiento y desarrollo integral de los estudiantes de licenciatura y
posgrado, en donde se fomente el trabajo colaborativo entre instituciones que atienden el
sector agrícola en el área de parasitología agrícola.
Propuesta que se construye y que se va consolidando, como en el caso de los estudiantes
de licenciatura y posgrado que participan con sus temas de investigación; asimismo, la
presencia internacional de colegas que aportan experiencia y prestigio al evento.
Cabe destacar que estas memorias se realizan con la presentación de resúmenes de las
ponencias, diez trabajos se consideraron para su publicación y cinco de ellos se presentaron
como artículos científicos, en ambos casos para la revista Avances en Investigación
Agropecuaria; es altamente prestigioso que ayude en la difusión de la ciencia tanto en la
modalidad de memoria del evento con los resúmenes en español e inglés, así como con la
aportación de trabajo científicos originales, que estamos convencidos que serán publicados,
pues la calidad académica de los participantes es ampliamente reconocida.
