The inoculated dishes were incubated at 25
ºC and every 24 h the diameter of the colony
was measured for 14 days, and the inhibition
percentage was calculated (Guillén-Sánchez et
al., 2017) by means of a comparison of means.
Afterwards, an analysis of variance was per-
formed to evaluate the significant differences
(p<0.05) between the treatments and the
Tukey test was applied to compare the means
using the R statistical software. Results and
discussion. Colony growth and percentage of
inhibition did not show differences when com-
pared to the extracts of Mimoten or Timorex at
all doses. Whereas, Canelys extract with 2.0X
dose showed an inhibition of 99% at 14 days
of evaluation compared to the control. This
may be due to cinnamon components such
as O-methoxycinnamaldehyde, eugenol and
cinnamaldehyde; where the latter participates
directly in the plasmatic membrane through
the inhibition of β-1,3 glucan synthase and
chitin synthase; which regulate the synthesis
of the fungi cell wall (Sharma and Pandey,
2016); therefore, the use of cinnamon extract
proves to be an alternative for the control of
phytopathogenic fungi (Rasooli et al., 2006).
Conclusion. The cinnamon biofungicide
showed high inhibition of C. truncatum growth
by 99%.

puede deberse a los componentes de la cane-
la como el O-metoxicinamaldehído, eugenol
y cinamaldehído; donde este último participa
directamente sobre la membrana plasmática
mediante la inhibición de β-1,3 glucano sintasa
y quitina sintasa; las cuales regulan la síntesis
de la pared celular fúngica (Sharma y Pandey,
2016); por lo que el uso de extractos a base de
canela demuestran ser una alternativa para el
control de hongos fitopatógenos (Rasooli et al.,
2006). Conclusión. El biofungicida con base
de canela mostró alta inhibición del crecimiento
de C. truncatum en un 99%.
